The pliers and accessories specialist is extending its product ranges and looking to add a whole new region to its sales network.
The quality of Frichy’s pliers is there for all to see and has been recognised across the world. The company’s roll of honour over the last four years includes: 2011: Best New Product Award, EFTTEX; 2012: Best New Product Award, China Fish; 2013: Best New Product Award, China Fish; Since taking the Best Accessory prize at EFTTEX in 2011 in Amsterdam, the Chinese-based company has made no secret of its ambition to carve out a niche as one of the world’s foremost producers of fishing pliers and other related accessories.
The company started life in 1995 and soon established itself as a major manufacturer of carbon steel and stainless steel drop-forged products, but it is since it developed a portfolio that included aluminium pliers at an affordable price that the accolades and growth have really taken off.
The EFTTEX success was followed by further honours on its home soil with awards at China Fish in 2012 and 2013. That success has translated into an increase in sales over the years and in 2014 Frichy saw a hike of 30% over the previous year.
“We are looking to continue that growth rate next year,” said Sales Representative Rachel Rao. “We will be doing this by widening our product line, showing customers innovative added-value services and increasing our distribution network.”
The company already exports to America, Japan and many countries across Europe, but is looking to extend that coverage to include the Latin American region. And it is hoping that China Fish will present an opportunity for it to meet potential partners from those countries.
“As the biggest fishing show in China, it attracts thousands of fishing suppliers and buyers so it is a great opportunity for us to project our image and show off our comprehensive range of products,” said Rao.
“At China Fish we also hope to demon- strate that as well as a number one supplier of aluminum fishing pliers, we are also a one-stop supplier of other related items of tackle, including stainless steel fish lip grips, big game crimping pliers and hook removal systems.”
Frichy will also be unveiling TWINS, a new design for Spring 2015 for the first time at China Fish in March. The new design of pliers feature: > Industrial class aluminum body design for heavy-duty applications; > Sharp upper cutter, making it ideal for braid and mono lines; > Unique lower cutter, designed especially for cutting steel wire; > Teflon finished jaws to ensure they remain rust-free in saltwater.
